On your doorstep in Marbella
There is much more, in the way of a local guide and "Sent from my iffone", available to our guests, post-contract. But here are some brief examples of what you would be able to do during your stay, should you so choose.
Beaches
Within 15 minutes there are so many beaches, including the beach at Alicate Playa at the bottom of El Rosario, our local community.
These beaches on your villa's (the east) side of Marbella are its best, and there are plenty of beachside cafés and bars to meet all your and your kids' requirements.
Tapas Bars
You cannot visit Spain without enjoying a few tapas bars, and the Marbella area has no shortage.
Our favourites, El Trillo & KGB (Málaga, traditional & modern, respectively) and Lamoraga (Puerto Banús, modern), are both worth a visit to appreciate developments in this culinary art...
Watersports
The Marbella area enjoys an incredible amount of watersport based activities from sailing to jetskiing.
Within 90 minutes drive is Tarifa, the surfing capital of Europe. Well worth a visit.
And it's only a short ferry ride thence to Morocco.
Golf
From Málaga to Gibraltar, there are some 50 golf courses, including Valderrama, of Ryder Cup fame. From your villa, walk onto Marbella Golf (Robert Trent Jones Snr - photo shows view over course from villa). Our other local favourite is Río Real. Our owner has written an authoritative guide to the golf courses of Spain, free copies of which are available to golfing guests.
Hiking trails
The local 'La Concha' mountain range is studded with hiking trails: an ascent starting in the very early morning is rewarded with amazing sunrise views and experiences. Afterwards, relax at the Refugio de Juanar inn.
Cooking Classes
Learn to cook Spanish or local Andaluz cuisine in the comfort of your villa. Then enjoy eating the dishes you have made!
Whether or not you come home with your own paella dish, you will bring back new skills to develop and and enjoy long after your holiday is over.
Nightlife
Restaurants, bars, night clubs, beach clubs and a lot more. Marbella and Puerto Banús have them all.
You too can become a member of the jetset...
For Foodies...
Modern Spanish food is now recognised to compete with the very best of France (and win!). There are several top-level gourmet restaurants along the coast, including Dani Garcia's restaurant in Marbella (two Michelin stars) and the 19th hole at Greenlife Golf, which becomes the El Lago restaurant in the evening, with a Michelin star. And there are more...
In-house Home Cooking
Our Full Service option includes two local home cooking typical Andaluz evening meals per week. If you take the Villa Only (i.e. self-catering) option, you can choose to have at least one such meal at the villa during your stay.
Pamper & Well-Being
There is no shortage of spa facilities along the coast. One of the best is at Villa Padierna (about 30 mins west), which also has excellent fitness and dining facilities, and three golf courses. There, a family can enjoy separate pursuits before all coming together for a meal in neo-classical surrounds. And there are others closer. Call our concierge team for more details.
Cultural Tourism
Your villa makes an excellent base for Andalusian tourism: all the main destinations of historical interest are within day trip range, nearly all by freeway.
The most outstanding are Granada, Córdoba, Seville, Cádiz, Jerez, Ronda, Málaga and Gibraltar. Morocco, too...
We have a multilingual tour guide who can escort you to your choice. Best done out of summer months, to avoid the hear and often long queues.
For Kids
There is plenty to do for kids in the Marbella area, from lidos to lunar parks, and lots of diversion at nearby Funny Beach (including go-karting for teenagers). Also visit the Selwo wildlife park or just play on the sandy beaches. That is, if you can drag them away from the villa's pool and playing hide & seek in the large garden!
