- Tuscany and Marbella
Both Villa Macario and Villa del Gato make excellent venues for weddings and other parties, especially family celebrations: in Tuscany we normally hold small events (top to about 30 guests). However, we can do events for as many as 150 people (we can help with local accommodation for your guests), though this requires a large amount of advance planning. Our vicar at the historic church of San Macario in Monte would happily assist, should a church be required. Famous for its landmark bell tower, the church has views almost amazing as ours. At the villa, all three outside terraces may be covered over, thus taking any weather risk out of shoulder season parties.
In Marbella, there are many glitzy venues for weddings. We offer something completely different: a gloriously romantic rustic and panoramic setting, which is almost unique. We can accept parties here of 50-60 people if seated dining is required, and 80-100 places for a buffet. We work with local professional party/wedding planners, if required. The slideshow below shows a small wedding party at the villa.
Please note that, normally, we do not accept hen nights or stag parties.
2019 Olive Season - Tuscany
Pruning Week: 26 March - 2 April 2022
Join us at generally one of the nicest times of year, when we prune our olive trees and enjoy food fresh from our south-facing slopes, and taste wines that you are less likely to have come across. Bonfires, paella lessons and fireworks, as for harvest weeks (see video).
We prune for 3 days. The rest of the week is for relaxation and local exploration, as you wish. We provide all meals and wine on working days, and on other days if you choose not to explore local hostelries yourselves. €1,500 per head for the week (on a shared room basis; supplement of €500 for single occupancy). We share all our knowledge about olives, wine, food and a lot more about life in Tuscany. Limited to 6 guests (plus 4 more, if non-en-suite bunk bed accommodation is accepted, at €500 for 2 per bunk bedroom). You take some of the previous autumn's oil home with you.
Harvest weeks Mid Oct - Mid Nov (3 x 1 week)
Join us for a week to harvest and create your own freshly pressed olive oil from our olive groves, which lie within the famous Lucca DoP area.
Starting each Sunday, we harvest for 3 days. The rest of the week is for relaxation and local exploration, as you wish. We provide all meals and wine on harvest days. €1,750 per head (all-in) for the week (on a shared room basis; supplement of €750 for single occupancy). We share all our knowledge about olives, wine, food and a lot more about life in Tuscany. Limited to 6 guests (plus 4 more, if non-en-suite bunk bed accommodation is accepted, at €750 per 2 people for bunk bed occupancy). You take all your oil home with you.
